Dear friends and Super readers,

Happy New Year’s Eve! We’ve survived 2024! I can’t even wrap my head around it being 2025. For the past couple of months, I’ve had my head in the next book, Star Crossed, which is finally out TODAY!

Thank you, Jesus, for helping me get that one done. The book could double as a weapon, coming in at a hefty 152,000 words. Hugh just kept talking and talking and talking… To be fair, plenty of other people were, too. Kat is still her moody, snarky self. Jacob just woke up. We get to see old friends and meet plenty of new ones, including someone very special. If you’ve read to the end of Black Kat V: Kat-A-Strophic, you know who I’m talking about.

And animals! So many animals–kittaras and griffins and Pegasi, oh my!

The Black Kat series now has well over half a million words in print and is headed to a million after the next few books. The Ellandrian glossary got so big that I had to move it online here. (Last count, there were 50 new words in this book alone.) This is a work in progress. As we return to monthly newsletters, we’ll feature Ellandrian words, images, and maps.

What’s next: I’m already working on Black Kat VII: The White King. It’s on preorder, scheduled for release on Feb 15, but that date will change due to tje fact that Star Crossed turned into a whale of a book and devoured my time, LOL. My goal is to nail down a sustainable production schedule for the rest of the series, which contains 17 books over 3 generations of Supers. Did I mention I’m still traveling and homeschooling? Yeah, life is crazy. But you know what? It’s also great.

Here’s to a SUPER 2025 for all of us!

Lots of Love,

PS. Apologies to anyone who got this twice. I hit send and it only went to 14 people the first time. I need more coffee. Or klavach (Ellandrian coffee!) Or maybe just sleep!
